Participants learnt the basics and various techniques of weaving.
This workshop inspired participants and provided a creative space that emphasizes the importance of sustainability and how it can be linked to the Emirati safeefah craft of weaving palm fronds. Baskets and boxes were used to create chairs, which were decorated with fabric.
Recommended for ages 13 and above.

Hirfati is an initiative by Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council, an organization affiliated with NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, targeting children and youth aged 6-18 years. The workshops offered by Hirfati focus on the Emirati crafts “Talli” and “Safafah” and aim to raise awareness and knowledge of cultures and crafts.
