Explore the interior and exterior spaces of the Jameel Arts Centre whilst enriching your architectural knowledge. To celebrate the opening of its first completed project in the UAE, award-winning Serie Architects invites architecture lovers, students and industry professionals for a guided architectural walking tour around the 10,000 square-metre premesis.

All are welcome to join the opening week programme of the much-anticipated Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai’s new home for the contemporary arts.

Among other highlights, the Jameel Arts Centre will launch with a series of four solo exhibitions by eminent artists from the Middle East and Asia, which are being called Artist’s Rooms. There will be a curated group exhibition titled ‘Crude’, exploring some of the complex histories of oil as a catalyst of modernity across the Middle East; and a selection of large-scale installations and sculptural works including several newly commissioned for the centre’s roof terrace and gardens.

The tour will have a capacity of 15.

About Jameel Arts Centre
One of the first contemporary arts institutions in Dubai, Jameel Arts Centre presents curated solo and group exhibitions, drawn both from the Jameel Art Collection and through regional and international collaborations. The Centre is a 10,000-square metre, three-storey, multi-disciplinary space designed by UK-based practice Serie Architects. The building is punctuated by seven gardens, designed by landscape architect Anouk Vogel, which reflect local and global desert biomes. Located by the waterfront at the tip of Dubai’s Al Jaddaf neighbourhood on Dubai Creek, the Centre’s galleries are complemented by the Jameel Library, an open-access research centre dedicated to artists and cultural movements in the Gulf states and beyond. The Centre also includes project and commissions spaces, a writer’s studio, a restaurant and shop. The Centre serves as a hub for educational and research initiatives for diverse audiences. Its wider programming embraces partnerships with local, regional and international artists, curators and organisations.
