DXBDW 2017 - Exhibitions

Discover the luminaries of the regional design scene, cutting edge and retro European design and the secrets of Dubai.

Every aspect of design is celebrated through a host of inspiring, free exhibitions across d3 throughout Dubai Design Week.

The most prominent is ABWAB, a unique snapshot of the regional design scene showcasing the work of over 250 designers, that’s housed in a pavilion between Buildings 4 & 6 constructed from recycled bed springs.

AR Gallery presents State of Earth, an exhibition that explores issues around sustainability, whilst DZ Design looks to the future of interior design through virtual reality.

Porcelain stoneware specialists Mirage has created a original way of demonstrating the unique vision of architects and designers with its Design Your Tile exhibition, and the Middle East’s only Japanese lifestyle shop FRAME focuses on collectibles with Not a Toy: Be@rbrick Collection.

You can discover aspects of European design exhibited at four locations across d3. Art Veneziana showcases traditional Venetian glass etching with mirrors; MCML Studio shows the work of prominent French Mid-Century Modern designers; The Dutch Design Center hosts a unique collaboration between designers Olivier van Herpt and Studio Mieke Meijer; and jewellery specialists 51:55 and AlKhallafi High Jewellery team up to present iconic, 20th century vintage pieces by Cartier, Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Staying closer to home, luggage brand Montroi displays extracts from its insiders’ guide to the city, Unexpected Dubai.
