A rug collection that translated the elegance of Parisian ceilings into woven form.

In its first collaboration with European designer Pierre Gonalons, Art de Vivre presented Modern History, a collection reinterpreting the grandeur of 17th-century Parisian palace interiors through textile craftsmanship.

Drawing inspiration from painted ceilings, Gonalons explored how historic refinement could be experienced in a tactile, contemporary form. The rugs mirrored the geometry and framing of coffered ceilings, transforming architectural motifs into woven patterns that defined and structured interior spaces. Each piece reflected the balance between art, design, and tradition, capturing both Gonalons’ creative vision and Art de Vivre’s commitment to preserving hand-woven craft in a modern context.
