A contemplative installation offering a sanctuary for stillness and reconnection through multisensory spatial design.

In an age defined by acceleration and sensory overload, INTERLUDE offers a sanctuary for stillness and awareness. Annabelle Schneider in partnership with ArtKōrero invites visitors into a soft, cocooned space designed to restore calm and connection amid the intensity of contemporary life.

Conceived as a “third space” neither spectacle nor retreat, the installation bridges ritual, reflection and reconnection. It redefines spatial design by merging physical and virtual realms, integrating technology with tactile elements to evoke belonging, comfort and emotional balance.

Supported by Therme Art, the work underscores how art and design can cultivate wellbeing and meaningful connection. By slowing perception, INTERLUDE challenges the urgency and visual saturation of modern existence, positioning design as a medium for intimacy and collective presence a quiet manifesto for spaces that nurture empathy and multisensory engagement.
