A cross-cultural installation that transformed public space into an immersive sensory dialogue between Saudi and Spanish cultural traditions.

The project brought together Spain and Saudi Arabia through architecture, scent, and shared symbolism, drawing inspiration from the fluid movement of flamenco. The design translated the dramatic sweep of ruffled skirts into sculptural forms that unfolded into the public realm like a dance in motion.

Lavender, a floral icon rooted in Saudi tradition, featured at the heart of the installation, bridging visual and botanical references to Spanish Manila shawls and flamenco culture. This crossover served as a symbol of cultural connection.

The Lavender Pavilion included seating for communal conversation and quiet reflection, while an aromatic garden diffused its fragrance, creating a space for healing, contemplation and sensory engagement.

Designed by Izaskun Chinchilla Architects, the installation reimagined public space as a place where cultural narratives, wellness and beauty coexisted in harmony.
