The Petunia Garden transformed Dubai’s fleeting winter bloom into an illuminated installation.

Inspired by one of Dubai’s most short-lived yet vibrant winter blooms—the petunia—the installation became a large-scale experience of light, reflection and resilience. Flowering for just ninety days each winter, petunias often went unnoticed in the city’s landscape. Duette Studio turned this brief moment into an enduring experience, with towering illuminated petunia forms emerging from a mirrored base that reflected both the city and its surrounding nature.

During the day, the polished surface reflected the surrounding architecture and planted landscapes, while by night the petals glowed softly, transforming the space into a luminous field that invited pause and contemplation.

Produced in collaboration with Blachere Illumination, the installation was engineered for structural integrity and energy efficiency, embodying Duette Studio’s commitment to emotional design, environmental consciousness and shared experience.
