Participants were encouraged to think outside the box as they worked on typographical solutions.

This workshop aimed to work with typography as an instrument to stimulate from both a visual and intellectual perspective. The workshop focused on the whole creative process, from concept to application using photography and the digital means. Participants had the creative freedom to explore new directions, developing typographical solutions that utilize unconventional methods and materials. The theme of 'wandering' was explored with the participants to embrace concept-driven design with communication at its core.

About the Facilitators:

Zena Adhamiis currently an Assistant Professor in Graphic Design at Zayed University Dubai Campus, UAE. She earned an MFA in Design from the California College of the Arts (CCA) in San Francisco, USA in 2012, and B.S in Multimedia Design From the American University of Sharjah (AUS) in 2006. Born and raised in the UAE, She started her career developing one of the Middle East key publications: BrownBook. She was also commissioned to work on several projects for Sharjah Government.

Alanood Bukhammas is a Graphic Design Instructor in the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University in Dubai, UAE. She holds a Master’s Degree in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship in Design from Goldsmiths, University of London
