In this masterclass, participants will get knowledge on new technologies in mass customisation.

Mass customization of housing is topic focused on offering homebuyers the opportunity to take part in the design of their homes prior construction. Recent design and fabrication technology have offered a new medium to achieve such an approach. One of the earliest models is the "Open Building approach", one developed by Habraken in 60s, and picked up later by many researchers and architects. The masterclass/workshop will offer undergrad architecture and design students an insight on mass customization of housing, new technologies to achieve such a model, concept of open building system, and leading to hands- on experience brainstorming session on the design and implementation of an open building system towards customization.
