Workshop on Enhancing Studio Pedagogy

Zinka Bejtic

A workshop on enhancing the current studio teaching and learning technique to uncover methods which promote the intrinsic motivation of students.

As individual / group critique is an essential pedagogical tool in the design studio. Its successful delivery relies not only on instructor’s knowledge but also on their ability to navigate through individual students’ needs, their communication skills and personality. As most design studio instructors are never properly taught how to teach, they rely on their own educational experience as a framework for developing their pedagogy. The workshop will uncover successful, research-based, techniques that elevate teaching and learning experiences in studio-based environments.

The participants will walk away with an increased awareness of their impact on students as well as with the tool kit necessary to enhance one’s teaching and promote students’ natural desire to learn, create and grow.

Target audience are undergraduate or graduate-level (university, college) local and international educators within any studio-based discipline such as architecture, interior design, product design, graphic design, fine arts, media, film, performing arts etc.

Limited seats available, for registration please visit Re:Urban Studio.Official Venue Partner of Dubai Design Week, Re:Urban Studio will host a series of masterclasses and workshops led by members of the local and international design community.
