The workshop explored the Japanese art of paper folding. Participants learned to paper fold and create one giant and one small origami animal.

Origami is a unique form of design and paper art, often associated with Japanese culture. Origami facilitates the learning process by helping participants develop logic, artistic and aesthetic sensibility, hand-eye coordination, as well as patience, perseverance and mental discipline. Origami is also an effective math-learning tool for kids.

In this workshop, participants learned how to use square sheets of paper to make folds and create one giant and one small origami animal. A step by step video tutorial of five different origami animal designs was then emailed to the attendees to continue at home.

Giant animal origami pieces can be used as a display, store decor, home decor, pretend play, a school skit activity, hanging mobile and much more. It is completely child-safe, as there are no scissors, glue or other tools required, only a square sheet of paper and a bone folder.
