In a combined effort to connect the events and to raise the profile of the selected designers and the creative communities they represent in their home cities.

Positioning Dubai as a gateway to the region’s design talent, a concept showcase demonstrating the strength of aesthetics, materials and processes of the region has been developed to place talent on an international stage, within Downtown Editions, the new element to the Downtown Design fair this year.

The partnership with the regional design weeks, including Amman, Beirut and Casablanca, seeks to develop design careers for regional designers and provide links international design audiences. The co-curated presentations are based on a selection of talent producing contemporary products with commercial potential within the architecture and design industry, maximising the opportunity of exhibiting at the region’s leading design trade show. The participating designers and creative contribution to this showcase will be announced in September.

Dubai Design Week is the largest event within a network of design events and festivals in key cities across the Middle East and North Africa. This year’s programme includes a number of initiatives that will see an unprecedented amount of regional design to Dubai.
