Featuring the latest collections from over 150 international and regional brands, Downtown Design’s new digital showcase offers both design professionals and enthusiasts an opportunity to reconnect and engage with the thriving contemporary design scene.

Responding to the unique challenges faced by the design community and as part of Downtown Design’s hybrid 2020 programme, the digital fair is a practical tool to discover new work, gain insight, network and be inspired.

With a focus on cross-collaboration, the digital fair presents works developed in creative partnership with leading designers including Sancal’s first purely conceptual collection; Void Matters signed by Swedish creatives Note Design Studio; Dedon’s new hanging lounge chair; Kida by Stephen Burks; and Fractal, the lighting collection by Thomas Feichtner for Preciosa.

Bene showcases their latest offering, Ports, which was developed in collaboration with London based design practice PearsonLloyd, whilst Arper launch their Adell and Aston Club collections in the Middle East. Alongside, the virtual showcase offers the latest from CC-Tapis, Tacchini, LaCividina, Molteni&C-Dada, Tai Ping, Marc Ange, Tom Dixon and Moser, among others.

Offering a window to the Middle East’s design scene is Cabinet of Curiosity, who showcase one-of-a-kind antiques, decorative pieces and designer furniture; Saudi studio Rejo whose new range of furniture translates our lockdown experience; and Kawn who present their new collection inspired by childhood’s once-forgotten playgrounds. Together with Lebanese studio Saccal Design House, Jordanian brand Kutleh that explores circular design and UAE-based Kalo who work within parametric design, the fair spotlights regional design excellence to a global audience.

Complementing the brand showcase, Downtown Design’s talks programme ‘The Forum’ is also presented virtually. Premiering daily during Dubai Design Week, 9-14 November on Downtown Design’s website, the talks feature leading industry names – architects, interior designers, product designers and journalist – as they explore the emerging values that will guide design into the future.
