Dubai Design Week will welcome families and visitors of all ages to explore a weekend-long programme of workshops, pop-ups and exhibitions from 12-13 November, 2021.

Festival-goers can unwind at the Dubai Design Week Jazz Garden for food and drink in an expanded creative outdoor space that will feature jazz music and DJs on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors can shop unique, quality products from ethical fashion to handcrafted jewellery from The Marketplace, an outdoor retail experience, set alongside engaging live programming and activities.

A range of special workshops staged under the theme of ’Paper, Plastic + Play’ will give visitors the opportunity to make their own wooden pen, create DIY clay-paint palettes or learn how to up-cycle plastic waste into usable objects, while the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Gulf Chapter will host a workshop for aspiring young architects titled ‘Fantastical Future Cities’, celebrating World Children's Day in a fun-filled and unique activity.

Weekend visitors will also find one-of-a-kind items made by Beirut-based artisans and creatives at the Beirut Concept Store, located at Downtown Editions, which will feature works by 50 established designers and emerging creative talent based in Lebanon, from tableware and furniture pieces to books and small gift items.

Dubai Design District (d3) will transform throughout the festival with special installations, including the Abwab winning commission Nature in Motion’, an architectural pavilion referencing the Dubai desert’s constant motion and emulating the city’s continuous development, as well as Morphing Nature’, by Kristina Zanic Design Studio for Trend Middle East located at the entrance of d3, and the low-tech installation 'Context Reflections', by ANARCHITECT in collaboration with Cosentino.

Weekend visitors can also explore a host of future-focused and human-centric exhibitions, including the most anticipated showcase of design projects that make the world a better place, MENA Grad Show.
