Dubai Design Week's dedicated workshops were hosted in the pop-up Maker Space - Made by Mart®. It was a platform for learning, experimentation and collaboration. Hosting over 45 workshops for all ages, the programme featured expert-led masterclasses, hands-on sessions and children’s workshops across diverse creative disciplines. Led by international and regional universities, practitioners, studios, brands and cultural organisations, it brought together voices from across the global design community.
Masterclasses focused on fundamentals, theory and practice across design disciplines, from portfolio development and presentation skills to career roadmapping and creative strategy. Led by experts, these sessions encouraged participants to challenge conventions, refine their voice and strengthen their professional practice.
Hands-on workshops invited participants to experiment with materials and methods that connect craft, science and technology. Covering everything from natural pigment making and ceramics to digital design, photography and woodwork, they offer a platform for creativity, learning and exchange.
Children’s workshops introduced younger audiences to the joy of making through engaging, age-appropriate activities in design and craft. These sessions nurtured curiosity, problem-solving and creativity, encouraging children and families to discover the value of design from an early age.
Apart from the ones held at Maker Space, a variety of other engaging workshops took place throughout Dubai Design Week, including:
