Learn the basics of stop motion by creating a short animation using smartphones and simple craft materials.
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to stop motion animation using smartphones and simple craft materials. Working in pairs or trios, participants will storyboard, shoot and edit a short sequence while learning the fundamentals of timing, sequencing and frame-by-frame motion. The session demystifies the process, giving participants the skills to continue experimenting independently.
About Ramy Khair
Ramy Khair is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design & Multimedia at the American University of Kuwait and an artist-researcher exploring computational media, spatial visual communication and interactive technologies. His practice spans interactive installation, generative art, aerial imaging and physical computing.
About Rita Merheb
Rita Merheb is an Associate Professor of Graphic Design at the American University of Kuwait. She holds an MFA in Graphic Design and an MA in Multimedia for Education, with teaching experience in Lebanon and Kuwait. Her work explores visual communication, design education and contemporary interpretations of Arab cultural heritage.
