A sculptural installation centred around a living olive tree, exploring resilience, belonging and individuality through handcrafted glass mosaics and the idea of Many as One.

At the heart of ROOTED stands a living olive tree, symbolising resilience, peace and longevity. Its roots speak of belonging, while its branches reach outward like connections between people. Surrounding it, a sculptural landscape of glass mosaics follows the organic rhythm of olive leaves.

Designed by Aya Arbab of Kristina Zanic Consultants in collaboration with TREND Group, the installation uses the Artistic mosaic technique, with artisans cutting and placing each glass piece by hand. The small pieces allow the mosaic to follow curved surfaces and sculptural forms. TREND’s glass mosaics also incorporate recycled content, giving existing materials a new purpose. As light moves across the mosaic, its colours and reflections shift throughout the day.

Visitors can scan a QR code and answer a series of “this or that” questions to discover their shade from TREND Group mosaic catalogues, connecting individuality to the installation’s shared story of belonging.
