An exploration of colour, light and material through interconnected spaces inspired by the openness, shade and hospitality of the traditional arish majlis.

Presented by Jazeera Paints in collaboration with Saudi architect Sumaya Dabbagh, founder of Dabbagh Architects, Colour Collective is an immersive installation exploring how colour shapes our experience of architecture and the spaces we inhabit.

Conceived as a series of interconnected spaces, the installation invites visitors to move through overlapping forms, discovering how colour, light and material influence atmosphere and perception. A modular architectural framework layered with translucent fabrics creates shifting compositions of colour and shadow, while openings and passages reveal different perspectives as visitors navigate the space.

Drawing inspiration from the traditional arish majlis, the design reinterprets the qualities of openness, shade and hospitality through a contemporary architectural language. A central gathering space offers opportunities to pause and connect, while an interactive discovery area encourages exploration.

Dabbagh's architectural practice explores the relationship between contemporary design and regional cultural identity, with a particular interest in how architecture responds to its social and physical context.
