Base 39
A modular pavilion designed for flexibility and future reuse, exploring how temporary event structures can become adaptable assets for different programmes, events and locations.
BASE39 commissioned Zaina Khan to design a modular pavilion for Sharjah Next, a large-scale innovation and entrepreneurship event hosted at SRTIPark.
The pavilion was designed as a flexible, modular structure that could respond to the needs of the event while also being designed for future reuse and adaptation. Rather than creating a one-off event installation, the concept explores how a temporary pavilion can become a reusable asset that can be reconfigured for different events, programmes and locations.
The project reflects BASE39’s role in connecting creative talent, design and entrepreneurship, giving an emerging designer the opportunity to develop a real-world commission while demonstrating how design can create practical and commercially relevant solutions for the events and creative industries.
