The talk explored multispecies design using 'contamination' as a focal point.

Through Gatto’s work, it fostered a discussion about design that transcended the human/nonhuman dichotomy, opening up new avenues for engagement with other species and modes of being in the world.

Gionata Gatto, an alum of Venice and Design Academy Eindhoven, is a multispecies design leader based in Dubai, Venice, and Rotterdam. Holding a Ph.D. in the field, he leads his own studio and teaches Product Design at DIDI.

This talk was held at the Urban Hives by Nathalie Harb, converting parking areas into community gardens. Its activation program featured talks, workshops, and events collaboratively organized with DIDI and curated by Joanne Hayek.
