Polypanels are the building blocks of an ingenious snap-together functional system devised by Devin Montes of Make Anything that harnesses the power of 3D printing and allowed visitors to construct anything once they have printed the basic units.

The panels came in all shapes and sizes, with the edge connectors always the same so that any one polypanel can be connected to another, combining into forms that can be rigid or flexible or somewhere in between.

In this session, The Assembly showed attendees how to design and customize polypanels according to their own specs and requirements out of the basic template. Following this, they demonstrated the various objects that can be created out of these wonder blocks, ranging from stationary holders, fridge magnets and bags to sturdy functional frames for electronic displays (including robots).
