Participant's learnt how to build puppets for stop motion animation and took a virtual tour in the animator’s studio. They designed and constructed their own puppets with wire skeleton, foam and clay.

Topics covered included carving body parts from foam, face painting, sculpting with air-dry clay and animation testing. Provided with recommended stop motion animation films, references and books.

This workshop was free of charge and offered on zoom.

Amira is an artist and a stop-motion puppet animator born in 1992 Cairo, Egypt. She creates art in various mediums like conceptual photography, illustration and animation. Her latest short puppet animation film ‘Sun and Moon’ was selected in international African film festivals in UK, US, Spain and local Film festivals in Egypt. She is currently doing her MA in writing for script and screen.
