The masterclass focussed on the importance of integrating first and last mile connectivity to support and encourage public transit use.

Public transit is key to inclusive mobility and ensuring that our cities transition towards a sustainable future. For many cities, the focus is to provide overarching transit infrastructure such as metro, light rail or bus priority systems. However, in many cases, what falls through the cracks is the planning and design of the first and last mile connections that people use to reach their final destinations.

The masterclass would focus on the intergration of first and last mile connectivity within our cities through the discussion of existing challenges and opportunities within Dubai using some of Arup’s experience in developing the Dubai Transport Integration Manual as well us Arup's extensive research on this topic.
