Emirates International Poster Festival (EIPF) is the first-of-its-kind creative platform in the MENA region developed to showcase and celebrate contemporary poster design from around the world. In its 2nd edition the EIPF was committed to embody positive change, promote and communicate a culture of Hope in the world.

Under the framework of Hope, the second Emirates International Poster Festival (EIPF) invited leading international and local designers to interpret the theme of the festival and create posters that promote and communicate the culture of Hope in the world.

As Desmond Tutu suggests, “Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness”, while according to Jonas Salk, “Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams into reality” Aristotle, also declared that, “Hope is a waking dream”, whilst Fyodor Dostoyevsky said that, “To live without Hope is to cease to live”. Hope in general means a desire for things to change for the better, and to anticipate a better situation in all respects.
Posters in their capacity as a powerful means of visual communication can make a significant contribution to disseminate a culture of Hope, optimism, potentiality, positive thinking, choice and self-determination.
