The mission of the Department of Art + Design is to awaken the critical, creative, and analytical potential of our students through the teaching and practice of the visual arts. Students in CWU’s Art + Design department have access to specialized studios, designed to foster their growth as artists and designers, no matter what the medium. Studio areas in the department include ceramics, drawing, graphic design, jewelry and metalsmithing, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood design.
