Akiba Dori in Dubai Design District took its Japanese street food fusion outside along with a series of live events. With live entertainment and an urban garden vibe, the Akiba Garden created an outdoor destination for festival goers at Dubai Design Week to unwind with a bite, a drink and music.

The restaurant, whose inspiration comes from the neon-filled streets of Tokyo’s Akibahara electronics district, will welcomed visitors to the festival with a lively pop-up outdoor space. Visitors were invited to stop by for some Japanese specialties and grab some of the Tokyo-Neapolitan pizza the restaurant is known for, spend their chill time in the Garden, or step inside the restaurant for a few games in its mini arcade.

Families at Dubai Design Week and visitors of all ages headed to Akiba Garden for a delightful break from bustling weekend programming like the Childrens Designathon, Makers Market and wide range of workshops and masterclasses. Dubai based musicians CODA will create a street-inspired, family-friendly atmosphere in the Garden from noon until 3 pm.

After dark, DJs brought the party to Akiba Garden, spinning a mix of mainstream hip-hop and R&B, retro soul and reggae, and Japanese hip hop, from 6 p.m. on into the night, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
