The Audi Innovation Talks is a daily programme of conversations with experts exploring the future potential of technology and innovation.
Manuel Jimenez Garcia, a registered architect in UK and in Spain, with a background in computer programming and digital design, develops computational methods to rethink design and manufacturing in a new technological era.
Garcia is a co-founder and principal of madMdesign, a computational design practice based in London, and the co-founder of Nagami, a robotic manufacturing startup based in Spain. His work has been exhibited worldwide in venues such as Centre Pompidou (Paris), Victoria & Albert Museum and Royal Academy of Arts (London). Alongside his practice, Manuel is a lecturer at The Bartlett School of Architecture UCL (London). He is programme director of Architectural Computation, and co-founder of Design Computation Lab. He also runs Research Cluster 4 at the MArch Architectural Design and curates Plexus, a multidisciplinary lecture series based on computational design.
Free to attend and no registration required.
Nagami is a Spanish design brand which explores new ways of creating furniture and environments that push the limits of imagination to unknown territories, embracing new technologies to materialise groundbreaking products.
Nagami explores the future of object design through the lens of pioneering production technologies bringing 3D printing and robotic manufacturing to large scale products and objects with a wide range of customisation possibilities. Collaborating with architects and designers such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Ross Lovegrove and Daniel Widrig, the Spanish design brand pushes the limits of imagination and possibilities in their quest to create groundbreaking objects and manifest exceptional environments.
The programme reflects Audi’s commitment to informing and empowering the regional design community, through a free-to-attend talk series. The talks provide experts with an intimate setting to engage with audiences in direct q&a and are hosted every evening throughout Dubai Design Week within the Audi Innovation Hub; a unique space by Audi Middle East, dedicated to innovation and designed by Middle East Architecture Network (MEAN*).
