Visualizing design intent through fast and iterative renderings has become an integral part of the architectural practice. Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) is well known for award winning buildings at various scales, and this talk by Cobus Bothma, Director of Applied Research at KPF will show how KPF enables the designers to communicate designs to internal and external stakeholders through accurate visualization workflows. Chaos’ Vray forms part of this process and this talk will present some of the new and advanced workflows to enable faster and easier design visualization through various mediums, including Realtime Raytracing, VR and AR.

About Cobus Bothma

Since joining KPF, Cobus has been involved in numerous projects with a large emphasis on design, computation, analysis and communication. Most recently he was part of the Abu Dhabi International Airport team, managing the furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) package and overall 3D BIM dataset. He also led the computational group during the initial construction of the airport. In addition to project work, Cobus is the Director of Applied Research firm wide overseeing most aspects of new technology development and adoption.
