Making Space is a pop-up studio which offers a five-day programme of practical workshops conducted by a wide group of UAE-based, regional and international designers and creatives to develop the skills of professionals, passionate audience members and budding designers of all ages.

These diverse workshops provide visitors with the opportunity to get hands-on experience of the process behind design and creativity. The programme is a fun, interactive part of the Dubai Design Week experience. From mastering the traditional crafts of the UAE to innovative ways of using recycled material as well as getting to grips with 21st-century technology, the diversity of workshops at the Making Space is as rich as it is varied.

Previous workshops included activities such as modelling, sculpting, 3D design & printing, weaving, sketching, gift wrapping, food decorating, embroidery, bouquet making, colour mixing & dyeing, screen printing, metal & woodworking, textile marbling, lettering and much more.
