Dubai Design Week presented the opportunity for designers, architects, creatives and design-driven brands to showcase large-scale installations or objects for public spaces, which will be showcased throughout Dubai Design District (d3) during the festival.

Design proposals had to be innovative, push the boundaries of the imagination and of what can be achieved through design, as well as take on a circular approach.

Submissions for Installations are now closed.

Submission Process

Applicants were required to complete the submission form which requires submitting essential information and the following documents:

  • Proposal concept statement
  • Portfolio of previous works and CV
  • Proposal image references and renders
  • Use of materials
  • Dimensions, space and technical requirements
  • Timeline of project completion

Criteria & Conditions

  • The proposal had to adhere to a responsible design approach, taking into account sustainable use of materials and production processes, construction, installation and operational processes
  • Proposals needed to be original and the participant confirms that they are the owner of all appropriate intellectual property rights in the submission
  • The proposal must incorporate suitable materials for outdoor use and consideration for year-round weather conditions in Dubai
  • The proposal had to adhere to a well-defined timeline for production and installation
  • Originality is critical, submissions had to confirm ownership of all relevant intellectual property rights associated with the submission
