After six successful years of showcasing collectible design, Design Days Dubai will be reformed and renamed to take place as a key element within the Downtown Design fair in November, uniting the region’s two leading design events, as an integral part of Dubai Design Week.

Downtown Editions will be a curated exhibition of bespoke and limited-edition design, providing opportunities to buy and commission unique design objects and offering visitors a rare chance to learn more about the regional design scene.

Uniting the two exhibitions within Dubai Design Week will strengthen the festival’s comprehensive programme for design enthusiasts, whilst offering a broad and enhanced platform for discovering new talent.

‘Downtown Editions’ will provide a setting for the growing number of creatives who design and make their own bespoke or one-off pieces, giving them the opportunity to connect with potential customers and take advantage of Downtown Design’s growing impact on the market. Honouring the legacy of Design Days Dubai, which ran for its final edition in 2017, this new component to Downtown Design will bring a vital dimension to Dubai Design Week and the experience of visiting the annual festival.

Director of Dubai Design Week, William Knight, says; “Dubai Design Week is genuinely strengthened through Design Days Dubai, the city’s first collectable design fair, moving into Downtown Design under its new shape and name, Downtown Editions. It will add a key component to our programme by highlighting designers and producers of limited edition design pieces and in turn delivering commercial opportunity to exhibitors as our audience continues to grow. Together we can now point to one comprehensive period of design activity and promotion under the banner of Dubai Design Week, strengthening the city’s position as the design capital of the region."
